Beth’s Yoga Teaching – What to Expect
In this practical approach to teaching, I carefully consider health conditions, your lifestyle, age, background, energy levels and time available for practice. I will suggest a practice, which we methodically work through together.
You will be given a personal yoga practice, which is designed for you to regularly use at home.
The practice can vary in length from 10-15 minutes, usually twice daily for therapeutic reasons, to more than one hour for specific development. The length of practice will depend on its role and how much time you are able to make available. Typically, I would suggest a practice around 25 minutes to begin with.
The frequency and overall span of personal lessons can vary according to the needs, concerns and requests of the yoga student.
During Your Free Yoga Consultation
We will have an opportunity to discuss your needs, personal goals and ways you can establish a consistent home practice. Towards the end of the consultation I will ask you to do some very simple movements to help me to assess your current pain-free range of movement, flexibility and strength.
During the Lessons
I will guide you through the yoga practice, carefully ensuring that it is appropriate for you and that you are comfortable with the structure and forms used. I will talk through your yoga practice sheet checking that you feel confident that you’ll be able to follow it at home. Following a full lesson I suggest we meet again to review your practice, this will give us the opportunity to refine how you work and gradually develop the content in order to get the most from your yoga practice.
Practicing regularly at home is the best way to develop your relationship with Yoga.
